ABOUT N.U.M.B.
NICK'S UNHINGED MECHANICAL BRAIN
“Nick was always creating something... I knew he would be an architect.”
Nick's Mom (repeated too many times to count)

Nick’s journey began in rural Michigan, where academics and creativity were deeply encouraged by his family. After graduating with honors from the University of Detroit’s School of Architecture, he quickly rose through the field, becoming partial-owner of an established architectural firm by age 30.

In 2005, Nick met his soulmate, Lindsay. Together, they opened Lindsay's dream restaurant, Downtown Main Martini Bar & Grille. During his successful time as a restaurateur, Nick fueled his creative side through graphic design. Beginning with work for his own bar, it quickly transitioned into a boutique graphic design firm.

By 2017, seeking more balance for their growing family, Lindsay and Nick decided to close their successful restaurant and Nick joined Baruzzini Aquatics as their in-house architect. There, he utilizes his skills in 3D modeling, virtual reality and augmented reality to design and build competition pools and aquatic facilities.

In 2023 life took an unexpected turn when Lindsay was diagnosed with breast cancer. During her long but successful battle Nick revisited his childhood passion for knives. With guidance from Kevin Johnson and Colin Maisonpierre of Divo Knives and help from the expert team at Reate Knives, he developed the innovative PinchLOK™ mechanism.
Today, Nick divides his time between family, aquatic architecture, and a few cherished graphic design clients. N.U.M.B. Kinfeworks and the PinchLOK are definitely his passion project and we are all excited to see where this leads.
Thank you for reading and for your interest in N.U.M.B. Knifeworks. It is appreciated.
